Forgiveness is incredibly healing. When you choose to forgive, you take yourself out of blame and a victim mentality and place yourself into a much more empowered position. Forgiveness is rarely the easy choice, which is why most people don’t do it. Most of us would rather stay miserable and ‘right’ than practice  forgiveness. But in the end it only hurts you.

My Approach

On our journey through life, we can become lost and caught up in negative thoughts and feelings such as self criticism, self sabotage, not feeling good enough to name a few. This can change our perception and take us out of balance. It may also affect our well-being by creating problems in our relationships which may lead to anxiety, depression or low self-esteem.

Understanding patterns in our life that cause distress helps facilitate insights into the core of our thinking, our self belief, our behaviour and the imposed limitations to bring about change. Past experiences shape how we view ourselves within key relationships and in society, but they do not have to define our life.

I have a holistic approach to my work, focusing on the 'whole' of my client; looking at life style, health and workload etc. Through my experience as Kundalini Yoga teacher and Breathwork Coach, I can also offer you techniques to help you relax, destress and reduce anxiety.

We work together in a safe, non judgemental, confidential and trusting environment. You will be listened to with warmth, compassion, empathy and acceptance. Together we will explore and understand your issues more deeply, moving away from self criticism, and you will begin to build resilience and feel empowered to use your own inner wisdom, and access your own inherent ability to grow and develop.

As an Integrative Counsellor with a holistic approach, I embrace several modalities and skills that help me to adapt my counselling approach to suit your individual needs. My experience and training enables me to work to a specific focus or goal(s), as well as exploring personal challenges at a deeper level.

I have a calm, empathic and honest approach, and extensive experience of empowering and supporting change for my clients, bringing them back to their authentic happy self.

Whilst I cover all areas of counselling, my mains areas of speciality are:

  • Anxiety

  • Bereavement

  • Depression

  • Drug and alcohol

  • End of life

Testimonial

"I came to see Julie for bereavement counselling after my mum passed away during the first Covid wave. Julie has given me the time and space to be honest and authentic. As an experienced counsellor Julie has also encouraged me to address underlying issues which have been with me for years. Julie immediately makes you feel completely safe and at ease and is highly professional. The respect she has shown me has enabled me to grow as a person and I have absolute trust in her. I cannot thank Julie enough for her work with me and giving me the time when life became too difficult. I can now see things in a new light and have strategies to handle situations differently. I highly recommend Julie for all the help she has given me." CS Harpenden
